The 90s style is making its comeback again. And as a kid in the 90s, I can’t be happier about it.

The 90s fashion takes me back to my childhood and youth.
So lets revive the Walkman and the playlists on cassette, the good old roller skates and the Beverly Hills 902010 fashion trend.

In this fashion blog we take a little trip back in time to the “innocent” 90s and show you the fashion trends of the 90s. So you can get style inspiration for your own 90s outfit.

In addition, we dig out all the other trends that were typical of the 90s era.

What was typical for the 90s?

Nokia 3310 cell phone

Today’s kids really can’t imagine that, but I didn’t buy my first cell phone until I was 16 years old. In contrast to today’s smartphones, these phones were hard to break. As far as I can remember, mine already did a few laps in the toilet back then. Got hit by a car once and hurried up the stairs countless times. Nevertheless, this sturdy mobile phone has always survived and has been my loyal companion for several years.

The 40-minute bus ride from the village to the school was saved thanks to my favorite game “Snake”.

Walkman and cassettes

Oh, back when recordings from the radio on the cassette were not yet pirated. The world looked rosy then.

My playlist of the 90s songs

The music playlists of the 90s looked very different back then. For example, you made a tape with your favorite charts songs for your summer vacation by recording them from another cassette or radio.

It was especially nice when your crush showed you his love by making you a love song summer tape for the summer vacation. That was real romance.

Below I have put together some of my favorite 90s songs for you, so that you can get into the 90s mood.

Gameboy

I spent countless hours of my youth on this device just playing one game. Super Mario Land just never got boring.

Even today hours fly by as soon as you take the Gameboy in your hand.

The Bravo magazine

Thanks to Bravo, I was able to paper my teenage room with a bands and celebrity posters. In addition, the weekly edition had tattoos and cool stickers as a supplement. There were song lyrics of the current chart songs and even with a German translation.

And through Dr. During the summer I learned how to use a tampon and what petting is.

Lava lamps

These stylish retro lights were not missing in any living room or bedroom of the 90s. They shone in beautiful colors and made the room shine bright.

90s fashion

The clothing style of the 90s was very playful, feminine and above all colorful. From batik patterns to neon colors, everything was included.

Here I show you the fashion styles of the 90s, which I loved myself and which I still remember.

Choker necklaces

When you think of accessories from the 90s, the collars that are close to the neck naturally spring to mind. These were available in different variations. As a tattoo choker, as a fine collar with a pendant or as a wide collar made of fabric.

Even today, choker chains can give your outfit that certain 90s touch.

Crop tops

If you want to dress typical of the 90s, then crop tops should definitely not be missing in your wardrobe. Because crop tops were simply a constant fashion trend in the 90s. Either you have already lived your boho style and worn crocheted tops. Or, for example, a simple cropped T-shirt worn with jeans shorts or baggy jeans.

Floral dresses

Even if floral dresses never went out of style, they were especially popular in the 90s.
The floral dresses were combined with a simple white T-shirt and worn with lace-up boots or Doc Martens.

Flower dresses definitely shaped the girly look of the 90s.

Hoop earrings

Choker necklaces weren’t the only jewelry that was super trendy in the 90s.
Creole earrings in various sizes and widths also had a large fan club this decade.

Because the ring-shaped earrings go with many very different outfits. Whether it’s hipp-hopp or baggy style, a little dress or a romantic hippie look.

The round earrings actually always fit.

Babydoll dresses / smock dresses with Doc Martens

Loose dresses and casual Doc Martens boots were a real grunge trend in the 90s. This was combined with an oversize denim jacket or a stylish leather jacket.
Fortunately, this trend has stayed with us to this day. Because smock dresses are super cozy and wearable for almost any occasion.

90s style grunge look

The grunge look of the 90s was inspired by the grunge music genre and musicians such as Kurt Cobain. The punk and rather “neglected-looking” look began as an anti-fashion statement, but it became a mainstream look.

Flannel shirts were typical of the grunge style, Dr. Martens, ripped jeans, leather and denim jackets, oversize sweaters and dresses. And all of this is best dressed in a layered look.
